Volunteer Renee Montgomery’s Experience 5/8/2010

Today I went at it whacking weeds with the weed whip.  I felt like a

Russian peasant with a sickle . . . . but I must say, for a medieval

instrument, it’s not too bad. “Fore!”  Good conversation with high

school volunteers Genevieve and Nemo about their college plans as we

moved horse manure. Genevieve found a horse shoe and we heard a horse

whinnying. Gage is very cool too, just a freshman but putting in more

time on the farm than he’s required by school.  I watered Marco’s very

impressive zucchini, my less impressive summer squash, and the new

heirloom tomatoes.  The new mulberries were a big hit in the farm

store – mainly because they reminded several people of their youth.

Volunteers are always welcome to submit to me their days experience at Vital Zuman Farm, which I will be happy to post on this blog! Email Reishafryzer@gmail.com
