Pepperdine students, planting, harvesting, and so much goin’ on at the Vital Zuman Farm

Today I volunteered at Vital Zuman Farm. I lead a nutrition class from Pepperdine University around the property and then we went to work, planting and harvesting. In the top picture you can see Vital Zuman’s owner, Alan Cunningham, teaching us how to plant a variety of melons and pumpkins in their front orchard.
After planting, we went to harvest mulberries.
We also harvested zuchinni.
We await the figs that will be ready in the next month to harvest! There are ONLY 250 fig trees on the property!
Vital Zuman Farm encourages daily volunteers from 10am-5pm.
So if you want to volunteer, feel free to contact Vital Zuman Farms by emailing or calling (310)457-4356
